Whisker World

A little world of animals, and the people who look after them.

Lessons, field notes and real ways to help. No rescue lists an animal here yet, so the animal beside this is a labelled example.

Learn what helps animals near you, then do it.

Three-minute lessons, each ending with something safe to do outside. Your journal keeps what you learned and did.

Reading an ear tip

What the flat-topped ear on a community cat means, and why it changes what you do next. About 3 minutes.

Start your first lesson

Accounts are not responding right now. Everything you do here is kept in this browser.

Read the signals

What a cat or dog is telling you with ears, eyes and face, and what a kind person does next. Then try four pictures.

Loading the signals… Or read how to read a cat's body language and a dog's.

Field guide

Four topics. Each path goes from a lesson to a real action, and shows what can come back to you.

Field notes

A private record of what you noticed. Notes do not earn points: progress comes from lessons and from help that reaches someone.

What did you notice or do?

Leave out addresses and exact places. Notes stay in this browser and are never sent or shown on a map; we only count that a note was added. To get a cat help, send a community-cat report to a local group instead.

Where outcomes come back

  • Community-cat reports

Your receipt changes from Sent to Reviewed, and to Added to a colony when a TNR group links it to the cats it looks after.

  • Animals you met

A card for each adoptable animal you opened while signed in. It shows Found a home when the organization records the adoption.

  • Lost & Found

Reports are prepared on your device for now and are not published or sent. The lesson's checklist works today.

Organizations on WhiskerMatch

The list of organizations could not be loaded just now. Lessons, field notes and your browser journal on this page are unaffected. Try again in a few minutes.

The rules we hold to

  • No animal, colony or foster home is ever shown on a map or by address. Field notes have no place field.
  • Entries come from learning, reporting and offering help. Never approach, chase or try to catch an animal for one.
  • Meeting or saving an animal does not make it yours. Its card shows what its organization reports.
  • No streaks, rankings, random rewards, timers or purchases. Each entry counts once.
  • Lessons are general guidance, not veterinary or legal advice. Local rules differ.
