WhiskerMatch retention policies are designed to be simple, accurate, and respectful of the people who share information with us.
No inquiry database — email correspondence only.
During early pilot onboarding, there is no backend database storing form submissions or inquiry data. When you send a message through a contact or request-access link, it goes to a standard email inbox at founders@veldarium.com. Retention of that correspondence is governed by this policy. Platform data retention (animal records, applications, adopter profiles) will be governed by a separate policy when the platform launches.
Email correspondence
Inquiry emails and follow-up threads are retained in the founders' standard email inbox. We do not set a hard deletion timer on correspondence — if you want your correspondence deleted, email us and we will do it promptly.
Hosting access logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) may retain standard server access logs for a short period per their own policies. We do not configure additional retention beyond hosting defaults.
No form database
There is no database recording form submissions. No inquiry data is stored server-side by this site. Nothing is retained on our infrastructure beyond hosting access logs.
Analytics
Analytics are not currently active. The analytics shim is a no-op and collects no data.
Platform retention — stated in advance.
When the WhiskerMatch platform launches, the following retention principles will apply. A separate product policy will document them formally before any organization onboards.
Active organization data
Data for active shelters and rescues will be retained for as long as the organization maintains a WhiskerMatch account. This includes animal records, applicant data, and foster notes.
Closed account data
When an organization closes its account, records will be retained for 90 days to allow for export, then permanently deleted. Backup copies may persist for up to 30 additional days.
Adopter data
Adopter profile data, applications, and messages will be retained while the account is active. Closed accounts will be deleted within 90 days.
No data sale
We do not sell, rent, or trade organizational or adopter data to third parties for marketing, analytics, or any other purpose.
Deletion and correction requests.
You can ask us to delete or correct any information you have shared at any time. We honor these requests promptly.

Email founders@veldarium.com to request deletion of any correspondence or information you have shared. We will confirm and complete the deletion.
Correction requests
If something we have about you is inaccurate, email us and we will correct it.
Right to access
You can ask to see what we have about you. We will tell you honestly and completely.
Regional rights
If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (GDPR, CCPA), those rights apply and we will honor them.
