Terms for the workspace.
These terms cover a shelter or rescue using the WhiskerMatch workspace. The general website terms (/terms) still cover the public site. If a signed agreement conflicts with this page, the signed agreement controls for that organization.
Template, not legal advice. This page is a plain-language starting point, not a reviewed legal document. Have counsel review it before relying on it for a regulated program.
Agreement
WhiskerMatch is operated by Veldarium Technology Systems LLC. By signing up for, or using, a workspace, the organization agrees to these terms. The person signing up represents that they are authorized to act for the organization.
Trial
New workspaces start on a 14-day trial with the full workspace. The trial ends automatically: access stops unless billing starts or the trial is extended by WhiskerMatch. No card is required to start a trial, and nothing is charged during it.
Billing
- $20 per month per organization. No seat pricing, no per-user charges.
- Billing runs through Stripe. The organization is charged when it starts a subscription in Settings; billing is off until then.
- There are no discounts, annual plans, or seat tiers. If that ever changes, the change is announced before it applies.
- Past-due subscriptions keep the workspace open while Stripe retries, per the billing rules in the product. A cancelled subscription falls back to the trial end date; it never deletes data by itself.
- Donations, where offered, are separate: the organization is the merchant of record on its own Stripe account, and WhiskerMatch takes no fee.
What WhiskerMatch is and is not
WhiskerMatch is workflow software: one reviewed record per animal across intake, foster care, applications, and public profiles. People make every placement, publishing, and adoption decision; the software does not approve or reject adopters, rank applicants, or publish profiles on its own. It is not a veterinary, legal, medical, behavioral, placement, insurance, or emergency service, and it does not verify veterinary records, microchips, or background checks.
Your data
The organization owns the operational records it enters. WhiskerMatch processes them only to run the workspace (see the data processing addendum). The organization can export its data as CSV at any time, including during the trial and after cancellation.
Acceptable use
- Use the workspace only for the organization's own shelter/rescue work, through authorized accounts.
- Do not enter payment-card numbers, government ID numbers, or anyone else's passwords.
- Do not use the workspace to harass, defraud, or mislead adopters, volunteers, or the public.
- Keep credentials and copied invitation/reset links private; report suspected compromise promptly.
- Do not attempt to access another organization's data, probe the service for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure, or resell access.
Support
Support is founder-led during early access: reply within one business day is the aim, not a guaranteed service level. There is no uptime SLA during early access. Scheduled maintenance is announced when it is planned.
Ending the relationship
Either side can end the relationship. The organization cancels from Settings (or by asking WhiskerMatch). Access stops at the end of the paid period, or immediately for a trial. Data deletion follows the retention rule in the DPA. WhiskerMatch may suspend or close a workspace that violates these terms, is used to harm others, or has an unpaid subscription after retries, after notice when that is practical.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, WhiskerMatch's liability for a workspace is limited to the fees that organization paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes
These terms change by posting a new version here with a new effective date. Material changes are announced to organization contacts before they apply. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of the new version.
